Hi yah mate! I'm called Horsie and I'm a potbelly seahorse….

Interesting Facts about me
Yes, I know. We have very big bellies. Our species is famous for our large swollen bellies compared to other seahorses. Compared to other species of seahorse we are the stronger swimmer, swimming hundreds of yards in a day.

Another surprise is that we do not have teeth. But the biggest shock is probably the fact that unlike most other animals, the male seahorse (ahem yes, that's me included) is the one that will give birth to their young.

Where can you find me in Aquaria?
You can find me at the seahorse tank just after the weird and wonderful, besides the jellyfish tanks.

Size & Weight
I'm currently 7inches long, but my mates could reach up to 13.5 inches long.

Diet
My favorite meal would include crustaceans like shrimps and amphipods.

Habitat & Range
In the wild, I live in the cold and temperate waters of New Zealand.
